My Approach

I work humanistically, which means I believe in your capacity for growth and self-understanding. My role is not to fix you or tell you what to do — it is to create a space where you can explore what is happening, understand where it comes from, and find your own way forward.

Therapy with me is relational. The relationship between us — built on honesty, warmth and genuine curiosity — is itself part of what makes change possible. I bring myself into the room as a real person, not a blank screen.

Issues I can help with.

I specialise in working with adults around relationships and sense of self. You might find my approach helpful if you are:

  • Processing a breakup, betrayal, or the end of a meaningful relationship
  • Struggling to find or sustain emotionally fulfilling relationships
  • Caught in patterns of over-giving, people-pleasing, or emotional burnout
  • Navigating relational anxiety or a fear of intimacy and vulnerability
  • Working through complex family dynamics — sibling rivalry, favouritism, estrangement
  • Feeling unlike yourself, disconnected, or unsure of who you are
  • Coping with bereavement and the loss of someone important to you

While people often appear capable and composed on the outside, I understand the confusion, hurt, or emotional loss that can exist beneath the surface. Together, we explore what is truly happening so you can move toward clarity, confidence, and stronger emotional grounding.

People I work with

The humanistic approach emphasises your inherent capacity for self-determination and personal growth. It focuses on both your conscious experience and deeper unconscious processes — and always places your subjective experience at the centre.

Processing a breakup, betrayal, or the end of a meaningful relationship, romantic or otherwise.

Struggling to find or stay in emotionally fulfilling relationships, be it romantic or social relationships.

Caught in patterns of over-giving, self-silencing, or emotional burnout causing you some emotional distress.

Navigating dating, relational anxiety, or an intense fear of intimacy and opening up in any relationship.

Family Dynamic issues such as sibling rivalry, dealing with favouritism and finding your place within your family.

Humanistic Therapies I Practice

The humanistic approach emphasises the individual’s inherent capacity for self-determination and personal growth, focusing on conscious experience and unconscious processes. My approach will help provide benefits as it prioritises your subjective experience and help you reach your potential.

Founded on the belief that you already hold the resources for growth within you. I provide three core conditions — genuineness, unconditional positive regard, and empathic understanding — that allow that growth to happen naturally.

A framework for understanding the patterns and scripts that shape how we relate to others. TA helps you see the blueprint of your relational world clearly and begin to rewrite the parts that no longer serve you.

Gestalt brings attention to what is happening right now — in your body, your thoughts, and between us in the room. This present-moment focus helps you become more aware of how your patterns play out in real time, and what might be possible if they shifted.

These three approaches share a common goal: fostering self-awareness, personal responsibility, and a deeper sense of meaning. Used together, they offer a flexible, responsive way of working that meets you where you are.

Who this approach works well for

Humanistic therapy is widely evidenced for supporting adults with anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. The self-awareness built in therapy tends to extend well beyond the sessions — into how you work, love, parent, and live.

If you have tried therapy before and felt it did not quite fit — perhaps it felt too cold, too directive, or too focused on diagnosis — a humanistic approach may feel very different.
